Hulu subscribers have remained loyal to a select number of films, according to the latest list of the streaming service's top 10 most popular movies. And sometimes, there's nothing more comforting than a classic.
The 1979 sci-fi original movie "Alien" has been a consistently popular pick for Hulu subscribers. The film, directed by Ridley Scott and starring Sigourney Weaver, was a box office success upon its initial release and went on to spawn seven other films. In April 2024, "Alien" was re-released in theaters for its 45th anniversary; the newly restored 4K UHD version made it to 10th place at the box office. If you need more incentive to watch (or rewatch) the original film, a new installment in the franchise, "Alien: Romulus," is set to be released in August. Though it's neither a sequel nor a prequel, the upcoming film will still be connected to the first "Alien."
